Student Costs

Application Fee:  $50

The non-refundable application fee must accompany the completed application form in order to start the application process. The fee is in addition to the cost of tuition, should the applicant be accepted into the program.

Tuition:  $2,500/year

Tuition is due the first week of classes of each school year.  First year tuition is due in August; second year tuition is due the following May.

Textbooks

Books for the School of Radiography are purchased by the student.  The student may buy new or used books (with the exception of "workbooks," which must be new) from any source, as long as the book is a current edition of the required text. ISBN numbers are given to the student in advance of the program start date. New textbook prices are approximately $700 for the first year and $200 for the second year.

Tuition Refund

Tuition refunds will be made only after an official letter of withdrawal has been filed with the Program Director. Tuition refunds will not be made to students dismissed from the program for academic or disciplinary reasons.

If the student withdraws before the end of the first month of classes, 50% of tuition paid will be refunded. If the student withdraws before the end of the second month of classes, 25% of tuition will be refunded. Thereafter, no tuition will be refunded.

Financial Aid

The School of Radiography does not participate in any Federal or State financial aid programs. Students are eligible for the Suzanne Sellers Memorial Scholarship at the end of their first year. Two $200 scholarships are awarded (in the form of a reduction in second year tuition) to the two highest academic students, calculated at the end of their first year.

Health Costs

As part of the Admissions process, students accepted into the program are required to have a pre-placement physical at OSF’s Center for Occupational Health.  The cost varies according to the vaccines/titers each student needs. Itemized costs are sent to accepted students along with their introductory information letter.

Students in the program are also charged for optional flu vaccines.

Students are responsible for all of their own health care costs associated with any injury or illness while in the program; students are highly encouraged to carry health care insurance.

Uniforms

Students are required to purchase blue scrub uniforms and white or black duty shoes; white lab coats are optional. Uniforms must be of a specific style/brand. Program director has further information.

Housing

Private housing is the responsibility of the student; housing is not available through the medical center.

Transportation and Parking

Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from classroom, lab and clinical assignments.  Parking is free for students at all locations.  Outpatient Centers have lots close to the buildings; the Medical Center offers off campus parking with shuttle service to the medical center.
